I'm a Director of Engineering at Grubhub, where I lead Post Purchase Tech: the Diner post-purchase experience, Care frontend and backend, and Internal Tools. That is 30+ services and frontend apps, a product, design and engineering group of 40+ people, and a partnership with a 500+ person Care Operations organization serving diners, drivers, merchants and care agents.

Launched an AI-powered chatbot that handles 36% of diner chat contacts end to end (1.5M a year) and took customer-experience automation from 55% to 80%, saving $4.5M annually; added voice AI in several business lines.
Drove AI-assisted engineering adoption from 25% to 95% weekly usage, applying agentic workflows to raise test coverage from 70% to 95%, remediate critical vulnerabilities and retire legacy systems.
Modernized Post Purchase on a backend-for-frontend, server-driven architecture, cutting $2M+ in annual costs while improving engineering velocity by 50%.

Outside work I'm the founder of Salitre Coaching, a UESCA-certified running coach, and an Ironman and marathon finisher. Previously

2023 – 2025 Senior Engineering Manager, Grubhub. Three teams (iOS, Android, Web and backend, 36 people) across menus, payments and order history. Moved menu to a BFF architecture saving $1M+ a year; +200 bps menu conversion.
2021 – 2023 Engineering Manager, Grubhub. Rebuilt the Subapp and founded the diner accounts team; scaled company-wide experimentation to 40+ monthly experiments; led the frontend of an account-takeover remediation project.
2020 – 2021 Engineering Manager, Chopra. Built and launched the Chopra meditation app from zero to 700K+ users (4.9 rating, 99.95% crash-free); grew the team from 2 to 10.
2019 – 2020 Staff Engineer, Moda Operandi. Refactored the iOS app into a modular, reactive architecture; 2.5x revenue in the iOS channel.
2019 – 2025 Technical advisor and fractional CTO. Equip (iOS, Rails, infrastructure and offshore team), Cobble (architecture and hiring), Innernow (engineering and product strategy, AI agents).
2017 – 2019 Engineering Manager, Hudson's Bay Company. From Lead Engineer on the Gilt iOS / tvOS team to leading the Common Platform team; Scala microservices for the mobile middleware.
2014 – 2017 Senior iOS Developer, JackThreads / Thrillist. Led iOS for both apps, the JackThreads redesign and the Swift migration.
2013 – 2014 Lead iOS Developer, Eversnap, a photo and video sharing startup in Silicon Valley.
2011 – 2013 iOS Developer, Golden Gekko, an award-winning mobile agency in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, later acquired by DMI.
2005 – 2011 Software engineer and team lead in Spain and France: a J2EE ERP team, a Compact.NET mobile project for an IKEA subsidiary in the Canary Islands, functional consulting with Siemens Healthcare, and full-stack .NET at B3G Telecom in Paris.
